Martini, Katharina, Dr. med.
Dr. Katharina Martini is an expert chest radiologist at the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology of the University Hospital Zurich. Based on her expertise in thoracic imaging, she was announced Senior Editor for the British Journal of Radiology|Case reports for the Section Chest and Respiratory imaging in August 2019 and Editor for the European Journal of Radiology for the section Thoracic imaging in February 2021. She submitted the request to obtain the Venia legendi in chest imaging at the University of Zurich in 2019. During her work at the University Hospital Zurich and her guest fellowship at the Cochin Hospital in Paris (France) she gained profound experience in chest imaging with special focus on the application of Radiomics and Machine learning algorithms.
Her current research includes the validation and impact of different imaging modalities in tumor assessment, characterization and response to treatment as well as the texture-based analysis of interstitial lung diseases and infection.
As main or co-applicant she could acquire several grants to fund the out carried research with focus on new imaging technologies such as dynamic and oxygen enhanced MRI as well as radiomics. Further, Dr. Martini won several prizes for her research projects.
